Music is everywhere at West Hill Park A progressive curriculum from Early Years to Year 8 that builds key musical skills in performance, composition, and listening.

Our Music Programme Includes

Instrumental Lessons

Specialist peripatetic teachers offer lessons in piano, voice, violin, cello, trumpet, trombone, guitar, ukulele, drum kit, flute, saxophone, recorder, and music theory. Approximately 160 individual lessons take place each week, with termly ABRSM examinations conducted on-site.

Choirs & Ensembles

Opportunities for all students, including hymn practise on Mondays and during Wednesday assembly,  singing during lessons, Junior Choir, Colla Voce Choir, Chamber Choir, School Orchestra, Rock Band (Years 6-8), Fiddlesticks (Years 3-4 String group), Woodwind, Brass, and Guitar Ensembles.

Performances & Events

Termly instrumental concerts, informal concerts, jazz performances, Young Voices, Orchestral concerts, and Music tours including Disneyland Paris in 2025. Annual major productions for Years 5-8 (Spring term) and Years 3-4 (Summer term), alongside Pre-Prep and Prep Nativities (Autumn  term). Additional performances include Harvest Festival, Remembrance Service, a traditional Carol service, and regular Open mic nights.

Music Theory & Technology

Developing musical literacy and creativity through traditional notation and digital composition tools.

From Orchestra to Open Mic Night, Colla Voce to Informal Concerts, Music Trips to Production. There are so many opportunities for pupils to flex their musical muscles and try new things!
