Nursery Ethos

We aim to provide a consistently high standard of care and education with both the Curiosity Approach® framework and Forest School philiosophy.

Little Griffins

Little Griffins is our wonderful Curiosity Approach® accredited Early Years setting. We pride ourselves on creating an engaging, calm and tranquil environment where children can build their own play using authentic materials that mirror the home.

The Curiosity Approach® is a modern-day approach to Early Childhood. It’s a beautiful recipe book of wonderful ingredients, carefully mixed together with experience, passion and a love of Early Childhood.

Children who join Little Griffins have the opportunity to experience all the school has to offer, from swimming in our on-site pool to specialist music classes, French, PE and the opportunity to take riding lessons at the on-site stables.

They have their own playground, but enjoy lunch in the main dining hall, with beautifully prepared fresh meals, real knives and forks and open cups.

Children are welcome from 2.5 years old.

Wild Griffins

Wild Griffins is our 100% outdoor Forest School provision. Led by Miss Allen our Forest School Leader. Set within 25 acres of grounds, Wild Griffins has its own designated area, with a Yurt in place for the most extreme weather conditions. Wild Griffins has space for 12 children.

Children in a forest school environment experience nature first-hand, they witness the changing of the seasons and get caught up in the wonder those changes bring about. Our Wild Griffins are able to harness the power of the outdoors and use it to help them understand science, numeracy, literacy, working as part of a team, problem-solving, risk-taking and so much more.

Our Early Years provision encompasses the very best of The Curiosity Approach in Little Griffins, and an exceptional outdoor Forest School Nursery with Wild Griffins. Children are welcome to join from 2.5 and can mix and match their days across the two settings.

The Curiosity Approach® Framework:

Providing a secure and stimulating environment, where children can develop as individuals at an appropriate pace. Positively challenging children’s learning, allowing them to achieve with confidence. Putting children at the centre of all of our decisions and valuing them as individuals. Encouraging children to have a positive self image, the ability to communicate confidently, and to value and show respect for others.

The Curiosity Approach® Framework:

Delivering a broad, balanced and challenging curriculum which encompasses the acquisition and development of skills, understanding and knowledge. This curriculum provides opportunities for children to explore, devise, experiment, investigate and learn through play. Teaching politeness, respect and courtesy by example. Good manners are fostered along with an understanding of how these aspects affect other people in our daily lives. Making the Early Years environment a pleasant and inspiring place for everyone.
